Sabah Renewable Energy Rural Electrification Roadmap (SabahRE2) is a multi-stakeholder initiative that charts a course for energy access for all in Sabah. The initiative centres community-managed renewable energy mini-grids as the solution to power remote communities across the state. The roadmap provides the tools, data and approaches required to optimise renewable energy deployment in rural Sabah, and connects climate change mitigation with energy justice, local economies and environmental stewardship.

SabahRE2 comprises a consortium of four closely collaborating organisations: Forever Sabah, TONIBUNG, PACOS Trust and Green Empowerment by converging their unique and diverse capacities towards a common goal of statewide electrification.

Kenneth Lo is the communications lead for SabahRE2. He is also a film producer, activist and co-founder of Third Rice Culture Media Productions, producing documentaries that expose often unseen realities and hardships through the work of conservation and media.
