"Road to Ampang" follows the path of early tin miners en route to Ampang, and at the same time rediscovers important urban landmarks that lend the road its unique character. There is more than meets the eyes if you know where to find 'em!
about the ARTIST
Dennis Ong is a postgraduate at Universiti Malaya undertaking an MA in Visual Arts. His research interest lies in the urban history and heritage of Kuala Lumpur. In 2023, he founded the KL Oral History Project as a podcast featuring interviews with KLites unpacking what they remember of days past. He was lead researcher for Parallels: Old Klang Road Revisited, an exhibition investigating the history of Old Klang Road alongside the Klang River under Klang River Festival 2022.
