The flow of the river nearby
Klang River Festival’s concept is derived from the river itself, located within the central part of a densely populated area in Klang Valley.
Klang River has been neglected, as industrial factories continue booming along the river and use it as a waste dumping ground.
It is slowly being forgotten, being overshadowed by huge constructions and buildings. The sights of the river are gradually disappearing from the public eye and mind as access becomes increasingly limited.
How can we return value and glory to our river?
Flow of traffic
- Old Klang Road is one of the oldest and busiest roads in Kuala Lumpur.
- What do people do when they are stuck in traffic? Spending their time listening to the flow of traffic or looking at it as a medium of moving particles?
Flow of time
- Old Klang Road is historically significant. It used to be the only road that links Kuala Lumpur and Port Klang.
- As time passes by from generation to generation, what are the buildings and monuments from the past that still exists today but with their existence and historical values forgotten?
- How do we bring visual attention to these buildings to highlight the experience locked behind their walls?
